Bay Forest Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in La Porte, Texas.
The course opened for play in 1988 and was designed by Jay Riviere.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,756 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,094 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 542 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 168 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 18, a 452 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 6, a 171 yard par-3.
The layout winds through a natural bayside landscape, complete with stately trees and bayou-fed waterways and large, well-bunkered greens. Water hazards come into play on sixteen holes. Generally, the course plays longer than the yardage indicates because of the prevailing winds blowing from off the Gulf of Mexico.

This is my home course. Bay Forest has been and it continues to be an excellent one to play.
I played the course one week after it re-opened after Hurricane Ike and the course was in excellent shape. Greens were in great condition and rolled true (9 on stimpmeter that day).
Bay Forest is historically ranked in the top 25 in the state of Texas. Play it when you have the chance. Closing hole (18) is a true test. Plays at 425 yards into the prevailing south wind with a small lake in front of green. You will need an accurate tee and 2nd shot to reach the heavily guarded green. Par is great score - birdie is like winning the US open.
